The Old Forest Film

The kickstarter is funded and website and Facebook pages set up, the stretch goals are continuing and the first 5 minute film to those who pledged is sent.

Corporate funding for the additional hours of film and the Hdealing video are underway.

Publicity is spreading with the first long interview recorded – we will let you know when it is time to air.

All that is peripheral – details that have to be done …but .. some real work is continuing on the film

This has been a time to clear my head and get a fresh view of just how exactly the structure and feel of the film are being tested.

It will not be like anything else I have seen and I was frankly a little scared about how exactly to combine the 50,000 still photos shot with the soft lens could be woven into the live traditional video interviews.

I tested an adapter so that the same soft simple lens could be used directly on a video camera to maintain the same feel, but with motion . Now I have a way to merge the still and video but that still leaves me with the difficulty of shooting live sharp interviews. I wanted to avoid the abrupt change in look and feel.

So I realized I could do Multicam layering in various ways in post.

And of course the audio will match the same kind of layered structure as I mix forest sounds including the sounds trees make internally with the music into something etherial and rich at the same time.

All the pieces are starting to come together.
